On Saturday, December 1, Granville Central School District’s high school VEX robotics team competed at the Chittenango VEX Robotics Tournament against 35 other teams. Granville's team, 4305A, earned the tournament’s Design Award.
The Design Award is presented to a team demonstrating an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization. Only teams who submit their engineering notebooks are eligible for the Design Award.
Engineering notebook is a clear, complete document of the team’s design process
Team is able to explain their design and strategy throughout the tournament
Team demonstrates personnel, time and resource management
Teamwork, interview quality, and team professionalism
The team also advanced deep into the final rounds, losing by just two points in the semi-finals single elimination round. The Design Award earned the team an invitation to State Championship in March.
The team’s next tournament is Saturday December 8, in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mark your calendars as Granville will serve as a host tournament on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
