Ella Mead at GES with a handful of medals

Meet 5th Grade Student, Ella Mead: A local gymnastic champion!

When she's not doing her schoolwork and spending time with her family, Ella LOVES gymnastics.

Ella has won quite a few medals in her gymnastics competitions! (Pictured below, in the middle.)

Here is what Ella says about what it's like to do gymnastics:

I compete in gymnastics and go to practice twice a week.

I have to travel and sometimes stay overnight, sometimes in other states.

My team is out of Rutland, and is called Cobra Gymnastics, and we won the Vermont state Championship last year.

We have beat lots of teams from places like Albany, Burlington, and Boston.

I am doing well and practice a lot at home during the year and have fun.

Ella's 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Bishop says she's a shining example in class too!

"Ella is a true role model of positive behavior, and I am extremely proud of her efforts in school," said Mrs. Bishop."

"She works very hard to achieve success and takes her role as a student seriously.  When I think about what it means to "Be Golden" at GES, Ella is a shining example."

Congrats to Ella and the Mead Family for all the hard work at school and in gymnastics!
