Thanksgiving Meal

Reserve your free groceries for a Thanksgiving meal by November 19 by emailing 518thanksgiving@gmail.com with: your name, phone number, number of people in your household, address (if requesting delivery) and any special instructions. No eligibility or any proof of need required. 

This is in partnership with The Kelley Charitable Foundation, The Car Shoppe, Rise Above Boutique, The Erin Sipowicz Team, and Granville's Hoagland Property Management.  These organizations are joining forces to provide all the groceries needed to make a full Thanksgiving dinner - turkey, sides, dessert and more - completely free of charge. 

Pick Up: Monday, November 24 at The Gym 518 in Queensbury, 578 Aviation Road

Delivery: Tuesday, November 25 or Wednesday, November 26

PTO Funded Backpack Program - During the School Year

Organized by Mrs. Nelson's Life SKills class in the Jr/Sr High - All Shopping, planning, pricing is done by students. Please contact Ashlee Zinn azinn@granvillecsd.org to complete an application or to refer a family for a weekly and school break backpack of non-perishable foods.

Free, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Snack Program - MJT and GES

Twice a week kids can try new fruits and vegetables during snack time. 

Please pack a snack for most days. 

Share Basket - In all cafeterias and placed in nurse's office after lunch - children can leave safe to share, food items like whole fruit and wrapped sandwiches that they do not plan to eat to share with others. 

The  Jr/Sr High Care Closet - Has some snacks and food (and personal care) items for grades 7-12

Every Friday from 11-12:30 PM the United Church of Granville offers a free community lunch to include soup and sandwiches. This is open to any community member. Located at 18 Church Street, Granville, NY 12832 (*not available when Granville CSD is closed due to weather*)

PTO Backpack Program Donations
Option 1: Venmo @granvillenypto with "For Backpack Program" in comments or send a check to Granville Elementary School, C/O PTO, 61 Quaker Street, NY 12832

Option 2: Drop off food items from the suggested list below at the Granville Jr/Sr High, C/O Mrs. Nelson's class who plans, prices, shops and packages all items for our students (students receiving bags are not identified).

Suggested Donation Ideas: Single serve apple sauce, canned vegetables (pop top), canned soup (pop top), single serve oatmeal packets, Kraft Easy Mac, fruit cup, granola bars, fruit and grain bars, Austin crackers, pudding cups, pasta and pasta sauce (twist top), small jar of peanut butter, jam or jelly. Community-Led Solution: Local families often have great solutions for locally sourced meals on a budget. Consider starting "cheap, healthy and tasty meal ideas" post in your local, online community group and invite your neighbors to share their best, most affordable tasty meal ideas. When you find a recipe that is very good, cheap to make and accessible, share it in the thread of the post.
