Annual Back to School Checklist

The first day of school at Granville CSD is on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026!

Here is a checklist to help your family prepare for school.

First things first, do you need to register for school?

Whether you're moving out of district or transferring into the district, registering for school can take up to a week of processing for class placement and requesting records, so please do so as soon as possible to ensure your student can start school on the first day of school.

Here is the link to learn how to register for UPK to grade 12 at GCSD.

Second, have your registered for fall sports at the Jr/Sr High?

Here is the link to do so via the Aktivate link on the Athletics page.

Important: Please check the live school calendar weekly to feel connected and informed of upcoming events and opportunities for your student.

9. Create a Family Calendar - Use a free Gmail calendar, a paper calendar or keep a dry erase board or small chalkboard in your kitchen to keep track of your family’s schedule and update weekly.

In the Granville CSD App, please navigate to the Rooms icon (at bottom of the App). Log in with your phone or email associated with your registration. Navigate to "settings" and TURN ON notifications. When your teacher(s) activate Rooms, you'll see your students classroom/grade level Room. Rooms allows you to text message staff and receive instant updates (pictures, reminders, etc) from teachers.

If you prefer not to use the App, you can log into Rooms via EduRooms.com.

Troubleshooting: If you have trouble, please delete the App and download it again and try once more, thank you. It does update regularly and if it's been awhile since you logged in you may have to do this. Any Rooms questions, please contact krozell@granvillecsd.org. Thank you.

MORE RESOURCES

Practice a Back to School Bedtime and Morning Routine, at least one week prior to the start of the school year. This will help your student feel awake and alert during the first week of school. Click this link for an example. (Opens to ABCnews short video)

Set out the first day of school outfit for a more relaxed morning.

Set up a healthy downtime schedule on your children’s smartphone and/or tablet to help them log off for the night and sleep well: Apple households go here. Android households go here. Prepare them for the new phone policy by practicing taking breaks from mobile devices regularly.

Granville CSD is a free breakfast and lunch school in all buildings, and you do not need to register for your child to participate. Arrive 10-15 minutes early for breakfast. Bus riders always have access to breakfast as well. If you would like to add money to their virtual lunch card for additional food, sign up at this link at MySchoolBucks.com.

Please pack a daily snack for each school day to help your children focus and feel good.

Please consider attending an Open House in September for your child's building or send a family member or close friend on your behalf. This is a great opportunity to meet your children's teachers, ask questions and get-acquainted.
