Extreme Weather Reminders Students are welcome to wait indoors when arriving to school. At the Jr/Sr High, students are welcome in the building by 7:20 AM to warm up in the Junior High Gym with supervision or join in the cafeteria for a free breakfast. At GES, students not taking breakfast, can wait in the warm foyer for classes to start. And at MJT, PreK students can wait in the vestibule with their guardian, or in family car if they prefer, and all other bus and vehicle drop-offs go right into the building. Walkers should be encouraged to wear warm winter gear to school. If your student needs a coat or other winter gear, please contact your school nurse or Principal and we'll be glad to assist. At the Jr/Sr High, students are able to "shop for free" for warm clothing, winter jackets, socks, hats, personal care items and more in the Care Closet, located in the Junior High Guidance Office. Yesterday Granville Jr/Sr High teachers, guidance and Principal Duell put on a fun and interactive Elective Fair for grades 8-11. Students got to learn and meet teachers and students taking a variety of optional classes that students can enroll in. Things like Chorus, Band, Career and Finance, Foreign Language, the Arts, Sports Management and Fitness, Writing, Agriculture Mechanics and more! 10th Grade Families: A reminder that this evening 1/14 and tomorrow evening 1/15 are open houses at BOCES and SUNY ADK for free job and career training programs available for Granville CSD students in 11th and 12th grade. New York Regents exams and midterm exams are scheduled for Tuesday, January 21 through Friday, January 24, 2025. On the exam dates of January 21-24, students in grades 9-12 will come to school only when scheduled to take a midterm or Regents exam. Students in grades 7 and 8 will have their regular classes each day with midterms scheduled during the day. Transportation will run at normal time with midday transportation for 9-12 students having half day exams. Students who need a midday bus, will need to sign up in the main office. Lunches will also be available for students in grades 9-12 prior to leaving after morning exams. BOCES busses will also be running on their normal schedule that week. BOCES students are expected to attend their programs when they do not have a scheduled exam. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest and prepare well for the upcoming exams, as they play important roles in academic success. A letter is on the way with all of these details also!
