Congratulations to our Granville PTO Staff Members of the Month for September!

Each of the following staff members received a beautiful slate frame and gift certificate to Indulge Pizza. Thank you to the PTO!

MJT Staff Member of the Month - Mrs. Clark! MJT Teaching Assistant

"Mrs. Clark has been the definition of a 'team player', and is always willing to go above and beyond to support our students and her colleagues. She has a cheerful face each and every day. Congratulations Mrs. Clark!" - Principal Taylor

GES Staff Member of the Month - Mr. Tuttle! GES and MJT Music Teacher

Mr. Tuttle's impact reaches well beyond his own students. He has demonstrated outstanding peer leadership by taking on the role of mentor for another teacher, offering guidance and support that contributes to the professional growth of our entire faculty. Furthermore, he is an innovator, continually seeking out and implementing new, creative approaches that enhance the learning experience for our students and deeply engage our wider school community. His willingness to try new things and share his profound love of music enriches the lives of countless individuals. In short, Mr. Tuttle's selfless contribution of time, expertise, and enthusiasm has elevated the standard for both student achievement and faculty support. He is a truly deserving candidate for this recognition." - Principal Ten Eyck

Jr/Sr High Staff Member of the Month - Mrs. Kolodziejski (aka Mrs. K!), 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Here's what staff members shared about Mrs. K:

She is always positive in the hallways and in meetings, and is a pleasure to have around! - Fellow Staff Member

I am incredibly proud of how she is streamlining information from the Union to the District with integrity, humor, and openness. She went from Vice President of Granville Teachers Association to President in a matter of a week, and did it with so much humility and compassion. More than that, I am proud of being her colleague and her friend. - Fellow Teacher

The absolute best place for all school events information and free opportunities is the district calendar.

You can view it in the school app or on the website here: https://www.granvillecsd.org/events

And, you can look at the calendar from "list view" or "calendar view" in the top right of that webpage .

Or, right underneath, you can see "this week" or "today".

And from there, you can add individual events into your own digital calendar by clicking on an event, and selecting "add to calendar".

So many options!

Give it a try!

Here's the link again to review this week and the month ahead and ensure you don't miss anything:

We're Hiring! Do you love numbers and making sure things are paid correctly? Are you highly organized, confidential, enjoy accounts payable tasks and working closely with a hard-working, easy-to-laugh crew who sometimes like to have lunch together?

Do you like having great benefits and somewhat flexible hours? Are you willing to wear a little blue and gold on Fridays? If so, Granville CSD in Granville, NY wants you as their next Deputy Treasurer!

Join our team and you'll work closely with our School Business Official (like a CFO, but for public schools), HR, Payroll and everyone else in the District Office who likes to drop in to ask you questions like "do you have any chocolate" in between Purchase Order inquiries.

Granville CSD is looking for a Deputy Treasurer to take over for a valued, soon to retire member of the team. She'll stay awhile to train you but you should be prepared to bring in chocolates from time to time, says one district office staff member that shall not be named. Just kidding you don't need to bring in chocolates, but peppermint patties are great, just FYI. (HR would not agree to chocolate comments, but hopefully she won't see this.)

We work hard, we go above and beyond for our school district and we never shy away from a challenge in the name of our school community.

If you like the idea of applying your accounting know-how to public school finances and making a difference in your community, then join us!

Apply today and don't forget the peppermint patties.

P.S. Peppermint patties not required in application and chocolate comments are not approved by HR.

Visit our "Now Hiring" page for complete details of the position

MJT Drop Off Reminder for Families:

The MJT Lee Road AM drop off time is 7:45 am - 8:00 am only.

Class starts at 8:00 am.

MJT staff go back into the building at precisely 8:00 am to get to their next duty.

This means there are no MJT staff members available to let you student in the door after 8:00 am at the Lee Road Drop Off, and Head Start staff do not have access to the interior doors of our building.

If you see an orange rope up at the MJT Lee Road drop off, please drive your student to the front of the building and walk them in through the main entrance. It means MJT staff has gone inside to start class.

Please also note: you cannot leave your student with a Head Start Staff member.

Please share this with any other adult who may do the morning drop off with your student.

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you,
MJT Staff

Before the safety drill, staff will talk to their students about procedures, explain what to do and why their actions are important. These drills are conducted to ensure that in the unlikely event of an emergency, our school community is prepared and knows how to be safe and work together. As always we thank you for your support. - Principal Nassivera

Dear MJT Families: As required by New York State Education Law, the students and staff at MJT will be begin practicing emergency safety procedures called “Evacuation Drills” and “Lockdown Drills.”

We will begin our fall drills next week, and will conduct these drills over the next few weeks. Each type of safety drill is explained below:

EVACUATION DRILLS
In an “Evacuation Drill,” the school community will practice the procedure of safely leaving the building. Students will be guided to a designated safe area outside and then brought back inside once the drill is complete. These drills help us ensure that everyone can evacuate calmly and safely in an emergency.

LOCKDOWN DRILLS
The purpose of a “Lockdown Drill” is to practice keeping everyone safe from any danger outside or inside the building. During this drill, all doors inside and out of the school building will be locked and no one will be allowed to enter or leave until the drill is completed. Students and staff will remain inside locked classrooms until released by law enforcement and/or our administrative staff.

These will be announced very clearly as a drill. This exercise helps everyone practice responding safely and quietly in the event of an emergency.

As a reminder to guardians/families:

You will not be permitted to enter the building during a drill, and no phone calls to the main office will be answered during this time.

If you are dropping off a student or picking up a student while a drill is in progress, you will need to wait outside until instructed otherwise by school personnel.

After the drill, you can support your child by helping them understand why we practice and prepare by conducting safety drills.

Please remember that conducting these safety drills can help maintain our schools as a safe place to learn and work.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Breanne Taylor, MJT Principal
