Have a great Granville week!

Dear GES and Jr/Sr High Families:
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but due to short staffing Granville Transportation has to cancel the morning route for the Elephant bus.
Students that ride this bus will need to be dropped off at their school by a parent or guardian.
The students can be dropped to each school as early as:
GHS: 7:20
GES: 8:30
MJT: 8:45
If your child does not have a ride to school, we will try our best to have a a bus run through the route starting at 9am to bring students into school.
If there are any changes to the afternoon route, we will notify families by 1pm.
Please contact the transportation department after 630am on Monday if you have any questions to Jaime Sklar jsklar@granvillecsd.org or 518-642-0660 Ext. 5201.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance in getting your students to school tomorrow morning,
Granville CSD Transportation

Happy Sunday! Here are some health tips to keep your kids feeling well and avoid any unnecessary absences from school.
Regular, on-time attendance is an important life skill that helps students succeed in and out of school.
Show up 15 minutes early for school and enjoy a free breakfast to fuel up for the day.
Looking forward to seeing your student tomorrow! #gohorde #granvillehorde

Congratulations to Granville CSD 10th grader, Cali Powell!
This is Cali at her recent photography show on January 16th, along with her art teacher, Mr. Todd Houston.
More About the Show from the Jr/Sr High Art Department
The Granville Junior Senior High School Art Department is pleased to present "Hidden In Plain Sight," a photography work created by Cali Powell.
The true title of Cali Powell’s work is hidden in the symbolic portraits of a diverse group of women, each representing the significance and strength of women.
The show is predominantly digital photography. "My mother and many other women in my life inspired me to create this artwork to emphasize how strong we are," Cali says.
"These strong and powerful women like my grandmother, mother, and all of the women presented in this show are often hidden in plain sight in our society and overlooked by many."
This artwork reflects the beauty, strength, significance, and untapped potential of women.
This show is a message that rejects the societal gender norms that women are weak and dependent.
For questions about upcoming showings of Cali's work, please contact Todd Houston: thouston@granvillecsd.org

Extreme Weather Reminders
Students are welcome to wait indoors when arriving to school.
At the Jr/Sr High, students are welcome in the building by 7:20 AM to warm up in the Junior High Gym with supervision or join in the cafeteria for a free breakfast.
At GES, students not taking breakfast, can wait in the warm foyer for classes to start.
And at MJT, PreK students can wait in the vestibule with their guardian, or in family car if they prefer, and all other bus and vehicle drop-offs go right into the building.
Walkers should be encouraged to wear warm winter gear to school.
If your student needs a coat or other winter gear, please contact your school nurse or Principal and we'll be glad to assist.
At the Jr/Sr High, students are able to "shop for free" for warm clothing, winter jackets, socks, hats, personal care items and more in the Care Closet, located in the Junior High Guidance Office. Stop in anytime! Shopping bags available.
Need heat assistance at home? Here is where to apply for Washington County, NY Heat Assistance, if needed: https://www.washingtoncountyny.gov/837/Home-Energy-Assistance-Program-HEAP
